Top: I started off working on some designs for the new Waiting & Company project and ended up creating some digital art that I really like. This is one of the pieces I put together. It’s a combination of five photos using masks and blend modes in Photoshop. Swipe through to see the photos used for this piece.
Middle left: Another piece made from six photographs. This one took me the longest to get right and I went through a bunch of different versions before getting here. This is my favorite of the three I’ve made so far. I’m sort of re using some photographs partly because it’s what I have exported and partly because they just work so well. I warped the hell out of Los Angeles here to give the sense of a rounded surface of a planet up in the sky. If I had a photo of a rocket ship instead of an airplane I would’ve used that but this jet honestly works really well too.
I like the idea/concept of narrowly escaping a fire-y hell to fly amongst the cosmos and into the unknown.

Middle right: This one was created with seven photographs I’ve taken in a bunch of different places. I think I like this style of art; it’s gritty and noisy and abstract. Sort of imperfect in a cool way. I like creating new meaning/a story from a bunch of unrelated images. I think the first one I made looks nicer but I like that this one tells more of a story and that it’s up to you to interpret. My favorite part about this one is using the electrical pole from Normal as a gravestone.
