50,000+ photographs, hundreds of hours of processing and editing, three years of shooting, and tens of thousands of miles of travel have finally resulted in this, a culmination of everything I've learned since starting photography, video editing, and in general, art creation. It's no masterpiece, but I'm really happy with this.
I first starting taking timelapses in 2018 on a backpacking trip to Wyoming in the Bighorns, Tetons, and Wind River Range. I had no idea what I was doing and only ended up using one of the shoots for this video. I still don't really know what I'm doing, but I'm getting better. I've been working on this for so long that it sort of feels surreal that it's finally done, like I don't even know what to do with my extra time now. Maybe I'll finally get that website going.
Below are "gradients", exposing the passing of time, light, and color. Each photo represents several hours of time.
